The Clean Energy Skills National Centre of Excellence (CESNCE) has formalised a new partnership with global fertilisers and industrial chemicals manufacturer Yara Pilbara, focused on building the skilled workforce needed to drive the state’s clean energy transition.
The collaboration will co-design and develop training pathways for emerging clean energy industries like renewable hydrogen and advanced manufacturing, creating job opportunities in the Pilbara that can be scaled across the state.
With a strong focus on increasing training and workforce participation of Aboriginal people and women, CESNCE and Yara will work closely with Traditional Owners, industry, TAFEs, universities and local communities to deliver inclusive, future focused training solutions.
Yara Pilbara operates one of the world’s largest ammonia production facilities. Work is currently underway on the Yuri Renewable Hydrogen to Ammonia Project at Yara’s Burrup Peninsula plant, which will demonstrate the industrial‑scale use of renewable hydrogen to support the decarbonisation of fertiliser and chemical manufacturing.
The collaboration will enable the TAFE network, locally and nationally, to build the capability of the VET lecturer workforce and deliver the specialist training required for emerging clean energy industries.
